Happy Sunday, my lovelys! Here are a few pictures shot at the Steigenberger Parkhotel Düsseldorf where we celebrated my grandma's 85th birthday with family and friends last week. This lady is just amazing! So strong and lively at her age. I hope I will be just like that when I am old: Looking back at a wonderful life and seeing myself in the faces of my children and grandchildren.
It was a beautiful and sunny day so that my yellow dress fit perfectly. The loose cut is very comfy (you can eat as much as you want hihi!) and the hem swings so nicely when you walk. I really loved wearing this a lot!
So how was our experience at the hotel? We arrived at the entrance at about 12 o'clock where we were welcomed by the portier who parked our car in one of the parking decks nearby. A conviniened service I must say! The entire hotel was remodeled recently so that everything is new and modern but still classical. I like the ambience very much at the Steigenberger as it is bright and light-flooded. Very much my taste.
We headed straight to the "Etoile Bar" where we had a little champagne and fingerfood while a speech was held and the guest of honour received little presents. Also the hotel had a little something for her which is really nice I think. Then we sat down at a beautifully set table in the winter garden with silver underplates and candleholders as well as flower arrangements made from pink roses. The four-course menue we had was delicious. A little bit too much meat for me but there I'm just weird;) Especially delicate was the dessert with an ultra rich chocolate tarte, parfait and passion fruit mousse. In my opinion many restaurants can often not keep up their standard when it comes to desserts but the Steigenberger proved me wrong.
After this delicious lunch we went for a walk around the Hofgarten park and the new Kö-Bogen buildings which both are right across the hotel. So if you stay at the Steigenberger Parkhotel as a tourist you are right where you need to be to explore the city.
A big thank you to the very welcoming staff! I will always be happy to come back!
