Oh la la, One Day in Paris!

Photos by Jennifer Zehl

Good morning, sweeties! As I promised you last week I will today tell you more about what we did in Paris.

I had been to Paris before so we weren't in a rush to see all the sights (although we visited most of them one more time) and had time to soak in the Parisian atmosphere. The wheater was so sunny and beautiful that I even got a sunburn on my head and face. Ouch!

On the first day we went up Montparnasse which is the tallest building in Paris with a couple of friends and enjoyed the view. I am very proud of myself that I went up by the way because I hate elevators so much! It is the fastest elevator in Europe though so the ride didn't take too long.

Another day we walked up to Sacre Coeur which was a lot of fun! After we just lay on the grass for ages as we were tired from all the walking we had done the days before. Later we visited the exhibition "Papier Glacé" at the Palais Galliera, also known as Musée de la Mode, about the work of Condé Nast. The publisher of VOGUE, Vanity Fair and many other magazines really had an impact on fashion photography. We saw beautiful and inspiring work!

What I was super excited about seeing was the chateau of Versailles. And it was breathtaking. So much gold, embellishement and pomp! What were these guys in the 17th century thinking?! I mean, I love this style but how did they LIVE there?! Nevertheless we felt very royal walking the same paths and hallways as Marie Antoinette...up to the point where we were kicked out of the way by Asian tourists who agressively took pictures of everything. It was actually kind of funny.

Apart from this we just walked and walked and WALKED. We seriously walked 8 hours a day. Just exploring the streets and parks, stopping at cute cafés and doing a little shopping. I didn't buy anything major though because it seemed like there weren't a lot of stores that we do not have in Germany anyways. Too bad nowadays every city looks the same shopping-wise.
Today's pictures were actually taken on our shopping day. My outfit was very french I thought with the boxy striped top by Petit Bateau. It seems like a cliché but french women do really wear lots of stripes I observed. With it I wore my favorite pair of jeans (so comfy!) and my new brogues which are great for walking as much as we did.
Many high end labels are located around Madeleine where you also find one of the famous Ladurée cafés. The line at the café was too long though so we just had a few macarons to go and enjoyed them in the park by the Eiffel Tower. So much Paris in one picture!

Food-wise we had the pleasure that a french young man cooked for us. Can there possibly be anything better than that?! It was delicious and fresh and even organic. During the day I overindulged though. I had so many macarons, pastries and crêpes, you wouldn't believe it! Paris is my kind of town in that matter;)

So jap, we had a super fun time in this amazing city of Paris...but I would anywhere in the world with my girls Zoey and Victoria. Thank you, my loves!
