Carousels & Cotton Candy

Good morning sunshines. I hope you are having a good week! I am having a fabulous week as I am super relieved. Right after I had turned in my bachelor’s thesis I went to the „Kirmes“ as a fun fair is called in German. The Kirmes in Düsseldorf is located right at the Rhein River and takes place for a week every summer. It is something I grew up with. When we were children my grandpa used to take all his grandchildren and we were allowed to test all rides and eat what and as much as we wanted. Having 10 grandchildren he must have spent a little fortune…and lost some of his nerves!
I am  not the one to go on crazy rides like the Power Tower or Star Flyer but you will find me at the traditional „boring“ carousels and definately the candy booths.  The atmosphere (if not too crowded) is always so colourful and enthusiastic, you just cannot not have fun.

When we were teenagers we used to dress up for Kirmes as it was a major dating pool. Everyone was allowed to stay out longer than usual and the „Break Dance“ used to be the place to be. It’s where the cool kids were. Hahaha. You have no idea how much drama took place there.
Well, today I am a little older and a little wiser, I would think, and wore a more appropriate, casual outfit. I was looking for simple boyfriend t-shirts  in good quality for a while and eventually found this one (bought it in 3 colours) by Esprit made from silk and viscose. The fabric is super soft and light. Love it! With it I was wearing my highwaist shorts as it was extremely hot that day. My friends and I were melting! The little pink and sparkling espadrilles are one of my best buys this summer. I am wearing them all the time as they are comfy, casual chic and match most of my wardrobe.

The Kirmes in Düsseldorf ended with spectecular fireworks last Sunday but there's another fair coming up in my hometown in August. I can't wait!
