Hello, my loves! While my European blogger colleagues are posting coats and scarves I can still wear bare legs. Yay. Hong Kong people keep going on about how "cool" it has gotten and that it is "fall" now but I wouldn't call 29 degrees cool. Someone even told me that it is not warm enough to go to the beach anymore. What?!
Despite the wheather, the stores are full of fall/winter clothes so I try to do a little mix here. The center piece of this look is clearly the sweater by H&M Trend. The sweater is really unique and has a retro vibe to it I think. It is how a 90s kid like me imagines what 70s kids must have looked like in the days. A little oversize, graphic pattern and bright colours. It's questionable and clearly not a basic you would wear season after season but in the here and now I like it a lot.
So what have I been up to these days on my Hong Kong adventure? Well, it is mostly about socializing and meeting new people. When I arrived I didn't know ANYONE in the entire city but thanks to my incredible flatmate I already met a bunch of people after only three weeks. Everyone is extremely nice and open to invite me to events or take me places. I couldn't ask for more.
Being an introvert it takes a lot of energy though. My boss brought the issue up during lunch the other day as she is an introvert herself and I found the topic very interesting. The main difference between introverts and extroverts is that extroverts gain energy from meeting and talking to other people while introverts fill their batteries by spending quality time with themselves.
Extroverts will probably never understand this and will always question why you sometimes simply have to cancel plans because you need a quiet night. It doesn't mean that introverts cannot socialize and be fun around people, or don't like doing that. It just means that it draws energy from them that needs to be refilled by some alone time. They need the mix. Often times you'll hear you are not resilient, a loner or even boring but what society that normally favors extroverts doesn't see is that a lot of influencial and expressivly creative people as a matter of fact are introverts (Barack Obama, Warren Buffett, Lady Gaga). Let's acknowledge that there are two different kinds of people in this world and let everyone have what they need to feel good.
I haven't cancelled anything so far and I am not planning on doing so because I want to experience as much as I can while I am here. I have to admit that I am tired as hell at the moment though which you can see in today's pictures I guess. Maybe I should plan some alone time this weekend after all to look fresh again.
