Happy Sunday, sweeties! Today I have a tip for you on where to go for brunch in Hong Kong. Hong Kong people LOVE their brunches, especially boozy brunches. They are very different from the ones we have in Europe though where it is mostly breakfast (eggs, bread, cheese, pancakes, tea, coffee etc.) plus a little bit of lunch in form of a soup or salad. Here brunch is basically an excessive lunch feast with no limits and free flow alcohol. And just to avoid any misunderstanding, brunch time often starts as late as 2pm and can go til 6pm.
I had heard about Zuma from different people but I always thought I wouldn't be into Japanese food as I don't care about fish much but when my friend Tiffany invited me there for her birthday I got curious and thought I'd give it a go...and I don't regret it. The food is delicious and the presentation beautiful.
The cooks prepare all the food in an open kitchen which was interesting as you could observe how for example sushi is made by real professionals in their art. Zuma brunch offers all kinds of little fish and meat bites, sushi, oysters, vegetables in different sauces, noodles, salad and other Japanese specialities. I liked all of it but the steak for a main course was particularly delicious. Dessert was a huge bowl of fruit, ice cream and little cakes. Yum.
We sat on the airy terrace which was really nice in this warm Hong Kong weather and the staff was very kind keeping the champagne flowing at all times. So make sure to plan a champagne brunch at Zuma when in town!
Have a great rest of the weekend and good start into the new week tomorrow!
