Hello my beauties, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas time with your loved ones and are excited for a (hopefully) bad-ass New Year's Eve party tomorrow. I am back from my little online break during the holidays and ready to tackle the new year that will hold many changes for me.
When shooting these pictures I thought about what ice "means to me" or what comes to my mind when I think about it. The first things that I thought about was "standing on thin ice" or "getting yourself on thin ice". This kind of relates to the new year ahead of us because putting yourself on thin ice has to do with taking risks and having courage. In order to reach the other side of the lake where a better life might be waiting for you, you have to take the risk and walk over thin ice. When ice skating for the first time you also need to have faith, let go of your fear and just start to slide.
Of course you shouldn't be foolish and get on any metaphorical frozen lake you happen to come across. You need to look at all the pros and cons and make a decision for yourself which sometimes can mean staying where you are rather than taking too much of a risk. That's called being responsible.
Whether your year has been good or bad you should try to get out of your comfort zone in 2016. For some that might mean a new job, a new city, a new relationship or smaller things like learning a new skill, eating more healthy or getting to know your neighbours or colleagues better. Challenge yourself to be the best you, you can be, without forgetting to relax. With this said, I wish you a good "slide" into the new year tomorrow and I'll talk to you in 2016! xx
