My Top Summer Trends 2018

** in lovely collaboration with Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf **

Navigating your way through fashion can be difficult. Nowadays there's not one trend everyone is crazy about, instead basically anything goes and it's more about finding your personal style within a flood of new products. So let me help you by sharing my favourite summer trends in collab with Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf.

1. Floral Print

Floral prints aren't for everyone because you can easily look like a wallflower;) Make sure that the dress or blouse is playful and fun, made of light fabrics. The garment needs to be flowy and can be transparent here and there, too. Floral prints are real statement pieces so be careful with mixing too many patterns, colours and textures. I prefer to combine my floral items with uni-coloured shoes, bags and other accessories.

2. White Lace Dresses

White is always a classy choice. It automatically gives you a nice, tan skin tone and through the reflecting light also gives your face a beautiful glow. You can match any other colours with white so you're free to style your favourite dress differently everytime you wear it. Lace is one of my top picks, too, because I generally like very feminine styles. Lace always has something dressed up but without the glam factor of e.g. beads and sequins, therefore you can wear your lace dress to classy daytime events.

3. Midi Length

Being in my late twenties I happen to not wear short short skirts and dresses anymore. I mean, showing knee is no problem, but I mean those dresses you wore when you were 20, barely covering your butt;) I simply feel more comfortable in longer styles now, and it seems more appropriate, therefore the midi length trend is really great for me. In my opinion the perfect length is when the skirt hem touches your knee, so when you move or sit the knee will peak out here and there. Make sure though to pair midi skirts and dresses with high heeled shoes cause otherwise you might look short and jolted.

4. Vertical Stripes

Stripes have always been a classic for summer but usually they appear in a nautical context in form of horizontal stripes. This summer it's all about turning it around. Colourful vertical stripes is the pattern fashionistas go for! You find them on blazers, blouses, shorts, dresses and skirts. The advantage of stripes in vertical direction is that the elongate your silhouette while horizontal stripes can make you look bigger than you are. Again, be careful that your look doesn't get too colourful.
